Katharina Beitz

CEO and CMO, business columnist

What motivates you?
Change, my sense of justice (it’s over the roof…) and the mission to experience and feel other people in real life.

The best advice you have ever been given?
Others are as afraid as you. And: When you encounter a situation you‘d rather avoid, that‘s where the nex learning curve is hidden!

What are you learning right now that you still have to get good at?
Letting people finish their sentence. I’m way too excited sometimes (;

What would you chance if you had the power to do so?
How much space does this form have?

Which superheroine power would you like to have?
Beaming!

Katharina Beitz

CEO and CMO, business columnist

Katharina Beitz is an entrepreneur, columnist, podcaster and communications expert for companies and people in tech: “To take the fear of technology away from the world and make it usable for everyone, that’s my credo.“

As CMO of our greenery, a successful vertical farming startup in Berlin, and as co-managing director of Zybra Capital GmbH, she is at the forefront of sustainable ideas and truly revolutionary startups in Germany.

For 10 years, she has been on the road as a consultant for real change, challenging companies with provocative theses. Yet, the nights looked rather different for a long time: she worked as a Berlin bouncer and selector for the city’s most famous clubs for more than a decade! That’s how she got to know the other side of a deeply disrupted city at a very young age: she met those who cannot benefit from the economic boom of a big city and often don’t even want to.

“With the Digital Justice Initiative and with my podcast, I have been connecting these two worlds for a long time, advocating for a design of the complex systems that finds a way for all people, not just experts.“

Katharina publishes regularly and speaks on European stages about the digital gap, innovation culture and green technology. Her columns can be found regularly in Computerwoche and Frankfurter Rundschau. Her academic background as a philosopher (FU Berlin) with a subsequent MSC. in Paris, London, Shanghai, San Francisco and Berlin (ESCP Paris) in Digital Innovation and Business Management regularly brings her together with a diverse network of exciting personalities with whom she communicates on new international trends and solutions.
